Baseball's New Year's Eve

The other day, I posted on Facebook a status that said: "Pitchers and Catchers report for Spring Training tomorrow. It's like Baseball's New Year's Eve!"

Spring Training has begun and my senses are buzzing with baseball starting in earnest. It seems like the arrival of Spring Training is the emergence from the dark shadow of the winter. Warmer days and summer time are not relegated to distant ambitions, but rather tangible anticipation. Yes, baseball season is beginning and I am simply overjoyed.

As it stands right now, I'm sitting on my hands when it comes to Baseball Road Trips. My first Oregon game is in about two weeks, but I'm focusing more on the World Baseball Classic in the middle of March. I already have my train tickets, but I am keeping a close-eye on the ticket prices. I am figuring that if Team USA fails to make the Championship Round, ticket prices will fall dramatically. The WBC officially starts on March 3rd, so I will definitely be watching the games to see who the potential match-ups in the championship will be.

When I was planning these trips, I knew that the lull between Fan Fest and everything else would be excruciating. I think I tweeted something about how Fan Fest would be a tease for the rest of the season. I'm still keeping my sanity, but I can't wait to get going again!

Always take on a 3-0 pitch ;)
